The Carillons went to Wittenberg, Germany in June/July 2011 to help the Castle Church start a handbell choir.  Thirteen members of the Carillons and three additional ringers presented workshops, performed a concert and played for an English language church service and a German language church service.  After more than two years of fundraising we were able to provide the Castle Church with a two octave set of handbells, bell tables, and some additional equipment.  The bells were donated by Paradise Lutheran Church of Paradise, CA.  This was a fantasic experience in the birthplace of the Reformation.

 We are planning a return trip to Wittenberg in July of 2014 to participate in the Wittenberg Handbell Festival, to provide additional training for their choir, and to renew our long-distance friendships.
